A look back at the case study presented by Ela Pantea during the latest Team Management module in the CAS in Team Management program at Executive Education HEC Lausanne, taught by Frederic Meuwly.
During this case study, the group of managers present was invited to generate and co-develop ideas and solutions in sub-groups, in response to Ela's challenge:
"Managing a multi-disciplinary team in a specialized school".
Each sub-group was tasked with answering one of the following questions around this case, based on 18 drivers for sustainable teams:
1. How can we encourage individual and collective resilience in this context of change?
2. How can we reinforce psychological safety within the team?
3. What practices and tools could reinforce team sustainability?
4. How can we turn the team into a "learning team" that fosters mutual learning without relying solely on the team leader?
5. How can we harmonize professional practices between generations and encourage open dialogue about working methods?
And here are just some of the ideas and proposals that were developed by the groups:
-
Creation of regular discussion forums (weekly/monthly/quarterly) > in multidisciplinary sub-groups
-
Creation of a "culture of error" that allows us to talk and share about mistakes and learning without value judgments.
-
Intergenerational peer mentoring
-
Involve "old hands" in the process, drawing on their strengths and experience
-
Creation of a "knowledge transfer" Sharepoint
Well done to the group of participants present for this module and the quality of their contributions, particularly during this case study and also during the World Café with 18 drivers.
Many thanks again to Ela Pantea for her time and contribution of this case study to the group.
