Sharing from an inspiring Leader
Recap of the MeetUp on May 26, 2025, during which we had the chance to listen to Yoan Mollier's fascinating presentation on his thesis work around the question of:
«How to adapt management to ensure performance and sustainability for the teams of the Protection and Security Service of the City of Neuchâtel while responding to future challenges and the specific requirements of the professions?»
With the objectives of:
- Evaluating the current perception of management
- Proposing management methods adapted to current and future needs
- Strengthening the quality of services and the reputation of the SPS
And for theoretical framework, the 18 key factors for sustainable and high-performing teams, as tools for:
- measurement and evaluation
- improvement
During this MeetUp, the group present was invited to reflect in sub-groups around the question of how to support such a cultural transformation within a structure. And here are some insights into the ideas that emerged from these discussions:
- Changing a company culture happens progressively, and everyone must be an actor in it, at all levels.
- Consider the “time factor” in this type of transformation
- Monitor the change to allow the group to observe its evolutions. Have relevant indicators for this, have a sponsor throughout the project.
- If we want to empower individuals > we must share information.
- The need to develop Leaders within this type of organization, accustomed to “commanding” to teach them how to “manage”.
- Allow these Leaders to adopt “situational Leadership” and learn to navigate harmoniously between a “Command posture” and a “Management posture”, depending on the moments and situations.
- “Not everything can come from the top, Not everything can come from the bottom”
