Case study presented by Ela Pantea during the Team Leadership module (CAS EXECED)

Case study presented by Ela Pantea during the Team Leadership module (CAS EXECED)

Back to the case study presented by Ela Pantea during the last Team Leadership module as part of the CAS in Team Management from Executive Education HEC Lausanne given by Frederic Meuwly.

During this case study, the group of managers present was invited to generate and co-develop ideas and solutions in sub-groups to address the challenge brought by Ela, which was:

“Managing a multidisciplinary team in a specialized school“.

Each sub-group was tasked with answering one of the following questions related to this case, based on the 18 key factors for sustainable teams:

1. How to encourage individual and collective resilience in this context of change?
2. How to strengthen psychological safety within the team?
3. What practices and tools could strengthen team sustainability?
4. How to make the team a “learning team” that fosters mutual learning without relying solely on the team leader?
5. How to harmonize professional practices across generations and foster open dialogue about working methods?

And here are some of the ideas and proposals that were developed by the groups:

  • Creation of regular discussion spaces (weekly / monthly / quarterly) > in multidisciplinary sub-groups

  • Creation of a "culture of error" that allows for discussion and sharing about mistakes and learnings without value judgment

  • Mentoring between intergenerational peers

  • Integrate the “seniors” into the reflection by using their strength and experience

  • Creation of a Sharepoint “knowledge transfer”

Congratulations to the group of participants present for this module as well as the quality of their contributions, particularly during this case study and also during the World Café with the 18 key factors.

A big thank you again to Ela Pantea for her time and the contribution of this case study to the group.
